Purpose of Scrutiny

Key Responsibilities
Coordination and Management
- Oversee and coordinate all activities within the council in partnership with the President.
- Maintain clear communication channels between committees, departments, and leadership.
- Ensure all divisions operate in accordance with established procedures and governance standards.
Committee Oversight
- Monitor the effective running of all committees.
- Ensure decisions and actions follow proper order and security protocols.
- Review committee outputs to maintain consistency and quality.
Reporting and Documentation
- Ensure high‑quality reports are prepared, reviewed, and submitted to the Chief Executive Head.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions, actions, and recommendations.
- Support transparency through clear documentation and structured reporting.
Policy Development Support
- Assist the President and Department Heads in developing and refining policies.
- Provide evidence‑based insights to strengthen policy decisions.
- Ensure policies align with organisational goals and legal or ethical standards.
